Edward Parkes

Director

Edward worked in engineering for several years before he was invited to change career and join the family business in 2006. Now with over 20 years of experience in the funeral profession, he is known for his professionalism and supportive approach and considers helping people through difficult circumstances a privilege. Edward enjoys spending time with his family and their dog Pippa.

Andy is a 40 year old funeral director and manager of G.T. Edwards with over 20 years experience in the funeral profession. He is known for his calm, professional approach and has dedicated his career to supporting families through some of life’s most difficult moments with care, dignity and respect. A lifelong resident of Ilkeston, Andy brings a strong sense of community to his work and is recognised for being compassionate and approachable, ensuring that every service he oversees is handled with sensitivity and attention to detail.

Scott has proudly served as a funeral director for over 23 years, supporting families and giving back to the community in Ilkeston. Scott has now been at G.T. Edwards for seven years. It is a role he cares deeply about, helping people through some of life’s most important moments with compassion and respect. He is a much deserved recipient of the Erewash Mayor’s Award which reflects his commitment to the local community. Outside of work Scott enjoys visiting National Trust properties with his family and relaxes by watching football.

Michael Porter

Senior Funeral Director

Michael is a highly experienced funeral director with many years of dedicated service in the profession. Outside of work he volunteers for a local charity, Everyone Eats, dedicating much of his spare time to supporting others. Michael loves his animals and has Bassett Hounds, a cat and an African grey parrot. He is also a beekeeper and enjoys shooting in the little spare time available to him.
